Prioritizing friendships and learning opportunities have made this group a fun and inclusive place for amateurs and professionals alike to connect and inspire creativity.

Camilla (Milla) Stengård
Badge Designer
Camilla is the creative person in our group who had the vision to produce our wonderful Padded Room badge.
She works in real life as a Screen Designer and likes all different kinds of music and art. She loves to be outside with nature, where most of her photos are taken.
Time for fun and being with family and friends are also very important to her.
Milla was born in Sweden on the island of Gotland and currently lives in Germany with her husband and two children.
The Padded Room is a community of almost 2,600 people! We have around 80 photographers that participate in the challenges, both beginner and professionals. To be a member of one of The Padded "Roomies," all you need is an Instagram page, a camera, and a desire to grow!

A Letter from the Producer
About 3 years ago, I started a personal account on Instagram and started connecting with many different people with different interests from around the world.
​
The photographer groups on social media caught my attention as I have always been passionate about travel, animals, and the beauty of nature. When I started to participate in photography challenges, I did not have experience in photography but started for the social "events" and connecting with different people with similar interests.
​
Being new at all of this, the ever-changing photo subjects, different techniques, and my natural competitive nature of wanting to provide the best possible final photo... was A LOT to handle at first!
​
In fact, it drove some of us crazy.
OK, maybe not CRAZY-CRAZY, but definitely may have caused some gray hairs in a few of us. To which we were thankful to be the ones behind the camera instead of in front of it.
And as insane as it sounds... we loved it.
After awhile, a few of us were interested in starting a group of our own and felt the name "The Padded Room" seemed appropriate!

The things that drove us crazy at first, such as the different subjects and techniques are now what we love most about each challenge as it keeps things exciting and interesting!

We are so happy to have you in The Padded Room! We are a just-for-fun photographer networking group that hosts quarterly photo challenges, giveaways, and promotion opportunities. Our purpose is to have an inclusive space for both amateurs and professionals alike to connect and inspire creativity.
We welcome anyone to join no matter the level of experience. Everyone has a chance to learn and grow!
